The original plan was to have one speaker each morning to introduce the day. However as the desired speakers can't make it, there are two choices:

  1. Use the time to have more topic group time
  2. Identify a few participants who could present what they are doing to the rest

So - thoughts on either option?

Update: Rosalyn from MoveOn? has volunteered to present on Thursday morning. Post input for her to prepare on the AboutMoveOn wiki.

I think we should identify a few participants who could present what they are doing to the rest

Yes, that sounds good. Perhaps we could choose after the Speed Meeting session, finding out which topics are of most interest to the most participants? Susie (s-t-m)

I agree, with the interesting people attending, we should be able to find a couple of speakers from those already attending, perhaps for Duane to determine based on volunteers. Alex (AI)

Need to give people a chance to prepare -- Tue, 10 Jan 2006 12:15:43 -0600 reply
It would be useful though if people know they're going to present in advance, wouldn't it - it might affect the material they'd bring with you? Maybe if everyone (who's willing) could be encouraged to submit a v brief overview of what they want to talk about in the Bazaar then some speakers could be identified from there? Jess (Which?)

Can we make it informal? -- Wed, 11 Jan 2006 06:49:09 -0600 reply
What do folks think about inviting everyone to participate in the Speed Meeting, then asking a few folks (who are comfortable doing so) to give more detail about their work. I don't know that this needs to be formal, with excessive preparation. We all love what we do and love to talk about it, right? : ) Maybe we could just have a sign-up sheet at the front of the Speed Meeting room? Heather (Idealist.org)
