**Focus**: how to promote the Big Promise action
http://thebigpromise.org/

Already planned
===============

- Mails to existing email lists
- Facebook banners
- Offline commercials
- Print ads with urls
- Celebrity promises
- Promise explorer' to allow people to see what's there – filter the promises in different ways eg by fulfilment time, location.
- Plan to use existing international network to approach people in target countries who have opted into relevant communications – a 'warm' list.
- Blog release – provide relevant tags, images, networking links etc.
- Ability to make multiple promises may come.

Ideas
======

- Youtube videos – low-fi videos of people making or carrying out their own promises. Lots of potential for these to be reused or re-edited together later. Competition for funniest video?
- Young people really fired up via lots of activity in schools for Make Poverty History. Chance to go back to them and report on progress as well as 'reactivate' them.
- Approach a media partner – good 'linear' stories which can be followed over time. Student papers? Radio partner for podcast?
- Encourage people with longer-term promises to blog about it?
- Get celebs to talk about their promises on their own sites or networks. Eg If Stephen Fry were to tweet it… Talk at gigs.
- Could people make group or collective promises, or match promises? Or make promises about encouraging others to take part?
- Encourage people to mention promises and progress in their status updates.
- Take a look at my43things – might like to partner, or just use ideas, such as 'cheer someone on'.
- Power of a 'moment' (eg Comic Relief Red Nose Day) Have a Promise Day to focus attention.
- Is there a way people could 'follow' their friends' or favourite celebrities' promises?
- Ability to nudge people through the widget. How can it be used to nudge leaders? Video footage?
